OUR MISSION

Maximilian's Mission

As a game design lecturer, my goal is to give and instill in students the creativity, technical skill, and analytical thinking necessary to succeed in the gaming industry. I strive to create an engaging and accessible classroom atmosphere in which students learn concept art, 3D modelling, game mechanics and interactive design while discovering their own voice as a designer. By blending theory and practical application, I encourage students to risk, experiment, and develop their craft through peer and professional collaboration or constructive feedback.

I work to enhance the learning process by bringing in industry-standard software, real-world projects, and guest lectures by professionals to bridge the gap between academia and the game industry. My goal is to inspire a passion for innovation and problem-solving so that students graduate with not just knowledge but also the means and network to excel in their future professions. By creating a lively and uplifting classroom environment, I aim to encourage the next generation of game designers to create rich and immersive gaming experiences.

New Approaches

I take an innovative approach to education by integrating emerging technologies, interdisciplinary collaboration, and hands-on project-based learning into the curriculum. I challenge traditional educational norms by emphasising adaptive learning, where students explore experimental design methods, rapid prototyping, and iterative development. By incorporating gamification techniques into the learning process, I encourage students to think critically, engage deeply, and push creative boundaries beyond conventional design principles.

To further enhance learning, I utilise Discord as a dynamic platform for communication, fostering an interactive community where students can engage with each other and industry professionals in real time. This approach breaks down barriers between academia and the gaming industry, allowing students to gain valuable insights, receive mentorship, and network with professionals in a way that traditional classrooms often lack. By embracing these modern tools and methods, I strive to create an immersive and forward-thinking learning environment, preparing students to excel in an ever-evolving industry.

Being a lecturer, my affiliation with the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) and Association of Computing Machinery (ACM)  enhances my ability to deliver cutting-edge education and stay updated with trends. IGDA provides instant industry exposure, leading to curricula that are designed with modern requirements, while ACM provide access to cutting-edge research in AI, VR, and procedural generation. These networks assist me in filling the gaps between game design studies and new technologies so that students acquire both technical expertise and creative insight.

People remain at the core of my mission, whether they are students, professionals, or staff shaping our educational landscape. I am driven by a passion for gaming and a commitment to excellence. My vision is to chart an ambitious path with unwavering focus on delivering outstanding education and training in the world of gaming and technology.
